Cacadu District Development Agency Officially Ceases Operations

The Sarah Baartman District Municipality (SBDM) wishes to inform members of the public that the Cacadu District Development Agency (CDDA) officially ceased operations yesterday, 30 June 2026, following a Council resolution to dissolve the Agency.

 

The decision forms part of the Municipality's commitment to financial sustainability to ensure the continued implementation of development initiatives across the district.

All current projects previously managed by the CDDA will be transferred to the Sarah Baartman District Municipality. Where projects are directly linked to a local municipality, responsibility for their implementation will be transferred to the relevant local municipality to ensure continuity and minimise any disruption.

 

The Municipality assures stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries that every effort has been made to facilitate a smooth transition and that development programmes will continue under the appropriate municipal structures.

 

Members of the public, investors and stakeholders seeking information on development opportunities within the Sarah Baartman District are requested to direct all enquiries to the Director: Planning and Economic Development, Mr Duma Magxwalisa.

 

The Sarah Baartman District Municipality wishes to thank the CDDA Board led by Mr Alroy Taai, and the CDDA administration led by Dr Eldrid Uithaler, as well as all stakeholders who have supported the work of the Cacadu District Development Agency over the years.
